Fall Is a Time for Family and Renewing Friendships

Message from the President

There’s something about fall in Tahoe that always gets my attention. Maybe it’s that first morning when you realize you need a sweater or watching the aspens begin to turn. Whatever it is, fall seems to remind us that change can be beautiful—and that it’s a good time to reconnect.

That’s very much the spirit of our High Holidays this year. Yes, we’ll pray and reflect, but we’ll also do something equally important: sit around tables together. We’ll share meals, stories, laughter, and conversation. We’ll see old friends, make new ones, and remind ourselves why being part of a Jewish community matters.

And while we’re talking about community, I’ll make my annual gentle reminder: none of this happens for free, even though we offer our High Holiday experiences without tickets or admission charges. We want everyone to feel welcome, regardless of their ability to pay. To make that possible, we depend on the generosity of our members—and especially appreciate contributions from visiting family and friends who join us. Our High Holiday moments are community affairs that takes many volunteers to come to life. Please also consider signing up for your opportunity to participate in what makes us so special.
